The Next Play for North Point Mall: A Sports-Anchored, Mixed-Use District Geared to Bringing the NHL Back to Greater Atlanta
Originally opened in October 1993 as one of the country's largest enclosed malls, North Point Mall in Alpharetta, Georgia, is being reimagined as a new community gathering place and future home of an NHL team — pending rezoning approval from the City of Alpharetta.
Together with New York Life Investment Management and Machete Group, Jamestown is advancing a proposal for redeveloping the nearly 100-acre site into a walkable, sports-anchored entertainment district positioned to bring an NHL franchise to the greater Atlanta metro. Designed for all ages and seasons, the redevelopment proposal, which aligns with the Alpharetta Comprehensive Plan, seeks to maximize the site’s potential to deliver jobs, increase the tax base, provide new community amenities, and preserve the North Point area as a regional destination for future generations.
